    The Monastic Poplar Abbey Casket is built of tulip poplar hardwood. Saint Meinrad chose poplar wood for this casket because the tulip poplar tree is very prevalent in southern Indiana. The wood has a variety of color and grain patterns. A dark cherry stain is applied giving each casket a rich even color.

    The Monastic Abbey Casket is fully lined in a pleated pattern in off-white muslin. Six wooden handles allow for ease of carrying.
