Abbey Caskets, a work of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, invites you to the Service of the Longest Night on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 6 p.m. CT. This special service will take place in the peaceful surroundings of the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Guest House Chapel in St. Meinrad, IN.
The “Longest Night” service is held around the winter solstice, the darkest time of the year, and offers a space of comfort for those who find the holiday season challenging. For many, this season can intensify feelings of grief and loss, especially when loved ones are no longer here to share in the celebrations. Bright lights and festive traditions may serve as painful reminders for those carrying heavy hearts.
Led by Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, the service will include prayer and Scripture, offering words of hope and healing for those in mourning or struggling with hardship. A recording of the service will be made available on Abbey Caskets’ website afterward for those who cannot attend in person.
